This weekend was DNOW. This is the third year that we have provided our home to a wonderful bunch of youth. We were so blessed this year to get 8th grade girls! They were so sweet and all here to learn about Jesus! The girls arrived Friday around 4:00 and stayed until our service this morning. Friday night we had a crazy night! The girls loved every minute of it too! We did the Amazing Race! It was great bonding for the girls and a lot of fun!
The girls came back to our house and had a session and then they all got ready for bed. “Lights out” was pushed to 1:00 AM this year, so it about killed me! Ha! The girls were all very respectful and went to bed pretty early. My dad was out of town and my mom was our support home so she just stayed in the spare bedroom. She got up Saturday morning and cooked us biskets and gravy and I made pancakes.
We headed to the church for a session and concert. We had Ed Newton as the guest speakers and he was awesome!! After lunch we went around my neighborhood collecting can foods for a local food pantry. We had a very good turnout. As a church we donated over 7500 items.
The girls had three hours of free time so they decorated pink shirts to wear Saturday night. They turned out so cute!
During our free time Sarah Grace had a soccer game so we took the girls to help out. The girls were able to get a child and help them during practice
We had several girls in our group rededicate their lives to Christ. One being my baby sister Natalie!
I was sad to see this morning come and to say goodbye to all my girls!
We had the best service!!!! I laughed and cried all morning. We had 28 youth baptized.
I didnt get to see Demi much this weekend but I was able to get a few pictures of her group.
We had the best college leader! Leigh was a summer intern at our church and we were so blessed to get her in our home!
Have a Blessed day! Tracy
