Not so much fun...

Friday morning, we had to be at the hospital at 6:45 for Sarah Grace's surgery.  A few weeks ago we took her to the ENT doctor for sleep apnea and he told us that she had an extreme case and that he wanted to remove both her tonsils and adenoids
She did great all the way to the hospital.  She was nervous but really didn't know what to expect.  She was fine until they took her from me.  We were both crying but I knew that she was in good hands and that it would all be over before we knew it.
Shaun and Lena met me in the waiting room.  The nurse called me twice during the procedure to tell me how it was going and then the doctor came out within 30 minutes to tell us that it all went as planned.  The service was amazing!  She woke up right away and was pretty sick.  They let me go back to be with her and then checked us into a room within 20 minutes.
We stayed the night last night to make sure everything was alright and to make sure there were no complications.  She received a lot of special attention!  Her school sent her this fun batch a balloons and the cutest little puppy.  Her class room made her a giant card that everyone signed.  So many family members and friends came to visit and  brought her barbies, coloring books, paper dolls, and her daddy bought her a leapster with the Toy Story 3 game.

She had a great day yesterday up until her meds from the surgery wore off and then she was in a lot of pain.  Her throat hurt so bad that she didn't want to take her pain medication last night.  We were up most of the night trying to comfort her.  Finally, around 7:00 this morning a friend from church who just so happens to be a nurse in the peds came in to check her iv and got her to take her pain medicine.  It was wonderful!  She was able to sleep for a good hour and then we were released to come home.
We got home around 10:00 this morning.  Lena stayed with my parents last night and they had her most of the day today.  Shaun went to pick up all the prescriptions and it took close to 3 hours!  She is doing good as long as we are keeping her pain medication going every 4 hours.  We are so thankful that everything went like it did.  We are now praying for a fast recovery!
We are very proud of her!  She is a tough little girl!
